Drone Cleaning Singapore

Building facades, solar arrays, roofs, windows and gutters cleaned with drone-mounted deionised water systems — from S$1.00 per square metre, with no scaffolding, no gondola and nobody working at height.

Drone cleaning in Singapore starts from S$1.00 per square metre for facade work. Solar panel, roof and gutter cleaning start at S$1,500. A drone crew covers 1,500–1,800 sqm per working day, so a typical mid-rise facade is finished in one to two days rather than the week or more needed to rig and operate a gondola.

Key takeaways

  • Published rates. from S$1.00/sqm facade; solar from S$900, roof and gutter from S$1,200.
  • Legal, with permits. Commercial drone cleaning requires a CAAS Operator Permit plus a per-job Activity Permit, filed at least a month ahead. We handle both.
  • Not always cheaper than rope access. On complex facades the job goes hybrid and prices near parity — we tell you which case yours is.
  • Deionised water only. No chemicals, so coatings, sealant joints and panel warranties stay intact.
  • Government-backed method. MND and HDB trialled drone washing of high-rise ledges in 2025, and MOM has publicly promoted facade-cleaning drones as a safety measure.

How much drone cleaning costs in Singapore

Most drone cleaning companies in Singapore do not publish prices. We do, because the first question every building owner asks is what it costs, and a quote you cannot sanity-check is not much use.

ServiceTypical price (SGD)Basis
Facade cleaningfrom S$1.00/sqmFacade area, substrate, elevations
Solar panel cleaningFrom S$1,500Panel count, array access
Roof cleaningFrom S$1,500Roof area, biological growth
Window cleaningfrom S$1.00/sqmGlazed area, access complexity
Gutter cleaningFrom S$1,500Gutter run length, blockage severity

Worked example: an 1,800 sqm mid-rise commercial facade at S$1.20/sqm is S$2,160, completed in one to two days. Full breakdown on the pricing page.

Why buildings are moving off rope access

Cleaning a building exterior in Singapore has traditionally meant scaffolding, a gondola, or abseilers over the parapet. All three work. All three also involve hoarding or road closures, a permit trail, an insurance conversation, and people working at height above an occupied building.

Drone cleaning removes the person from the hazard. A pilot and spotter stand at ground level while the drone delivers deionised water across the facade at a pressure calibrated to the substrate. The safety case is strong enough that Singapore's own agencies have adopted it: the Ministry of National Development and HDB trialled drones for washing high-rise HDB ledges in October 2025, and NTUC LearningHub now runs a Facade Cleaning Drone Operations Specialist certification — an industry does not get its own accredited course unless the method is here to stay.

The honest caveat. Drone cleaning is not automatically cheaper. Rope access in Singapore is keenly priced. On buildings with deep recesses, heavy soffits or profiled cladding, a drone cannot reach everything and the job becomes a hybrid — drone for open elevations, water-fed pole or rope for the rest. We quote that split openly instead of discovering it on site. See drone vs rope access for the full comparison.

Yes, with permits. Every commercial drone operation in Singapore requires authorisation from the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore: an Operator Permit for the company, and an Activity Permit for each specific job, submitted at least one month before the flight date. Pilots must hold a valid Unmanned Aircraft Pilot Licence.

Sites near Changi Airport, Seletar Airport or Paya Lebar Air Base require additional airspace assessment, and Jurong Island adds JTC security clearance. Airspace restrictions are published on OneMap's drone query service. All permit handling is included in our quoted price.

How a drone cleaning job runs

  1. Site assessment. We measure elevations, identify the substrate and soiling type, check airspace, and flag anything a drone cannot reach.
  2. Fixed-price quote. One number covering permits, water, crew and cleaning. Hybrid scope appears as a visible line, never as a later variation.
  3. Permits and scheduling. We file the CAAS Activity Permit and coordinate with building management. Allow three to four weeks; airspace processing drives the timeline.
  4. Cleaning. Pilot and spotter on the ground, ground-level water and pump setup, systematic passes across each elevation.
  5. Handover. Before-and-after photographic documentation for your records and your managing agent.

Frequently asked questions

How much does drone cleaning cost in Singapore?

Drone cleaning starts from S$1.00 per square metre for facade work, with a minimum mobilisation of about S$2,000. A 1,800 sqm mid-rise facade typically starts from S$2,000. Solar panel, roof and gutter cleaning start at S$1,500.

Is drone cleaning legal in Singapore?

Yes. Commercial drone cleaning is legal but requires CAAS authorisation — an Operator Permit for the company and an Activity Permit for each job, applied for at least one month in advance. Operators must also hold a valid Unmanned Aircraft Pilot Licence.

Is drone cleaning cheaper than rope access?

Sometimes. On simple open elevations a drone is faster and can price below rope access. On facades with deep recesses or heavy soffits the job becomes a hybrid and costs roughly the same. Rope access in Singapore is competitively priced, so it depends on the building.

How long does drone cleaning take?

A drone cleaning crew covers roughly 1,500 to 1,800 square metres per working day. A typical mid-rise commercial facade finishes in one to two days, compared with a week or more to rig and operate a gondola or rope access system.

Does drone cleaning damage glass or paint?

No, when pressure is matched to the substrate. Deionised water at calibrated low pressure lifts grime without harming coatings, sealant joints or anti-reflective surfaces. Aged or chalking paint is assessed first, as it may need recoating rather than washing.

Do you clean HDB blocks and condominiums?

Yes. HDB blocks, condominiums and MCST-managed developments are common drone cleaning sites because access equipment is disruptive to residents. MND and HDB have themselves trialled drone washing on high-rise HDB ledges.
